Invite companies to connect
Your club already knows companies that aren't on EpicHire - the sponsor who comes to your career night, the firm that sends a speaker every year, the alum's employer. You can invite them to join for free. It costs them nothing and it costs you one email address.
They connect to your club automatically
This is the part worth knowing: a company you invited is automatically connected to your club as soon as they create their company page. You don't send a connection request afterwards and you don't spend one of your weekly connection slots on them. Inviting is the cheapest way to grow your network.
Who can do this
Inviting companies needs the Manage Company Networking permission - the same one that covers sending and accepting connection requests and messaging connected companies.
On the iOS app
1. Open Company Network
Open your club and tap Company Network.
2. Tap Invite a Company
On Connect you'll see your requests and connections, how many Connection Requests Remaining you have this week, and Invite a Company - have a partner who isn't on EpicHire yet?
3. Review what's outstanding
Company Invites lists everyone you've invited, each with its status, the date, and the points it earned. Tap + to send a new one.
4. Name the company and contact
Enter the company, then your contact's first name, last name and email, and tap Send. Invite the human you actually deal with, not a general enquiries inbox.
On a web browser
1. Open Company Network
At app.epichire.com, open your club and click Company Network. It has four tabs - Connect, Connection Requests, Our Network and Invites - and an Invite Company button on the banner.
2. Check the Invites tab
Invites lists every company you've invited with who invited them, when, and their Contact Status. Re-ping chases a pending invite; the menu beside it withdraws one.
3. Send a new invite
Click Invite Company, fill in the company name and your contact's first name, last name and email - all four are required - then click Send Invite.
What your contact sees
They get an email with a link to a landing page naming your club. From there they create an account, and accepting the invite sets up their company page with them as its admin. The page goes to our team for approval before it's fully live - a normal step for any new company on EpicHire, not something specific to your invite.
Once they're set up they're connected to your club without either side doing anything else: their jobs reach your club's Jobs & Opps, you get a shared corporate channel with them, and they can see your club's resume book.
Worth knowing
- Ten pending invites at a time
- A club can have 10 invites outstanding at once. Withdraw stale ones to free up room. It's a deliberate limit - ten well-chosen invites from a club a company recognizes beat a hundred cold ones.
- Re-ping rather than re-invite
- If there's already a pending invite for that email address, sending again just returns the existing one rather than creating a duplicate. Use Re-ping to nudge your contact.
- An invite is worth points; withdrawing takes them back
- Sending an invite earns your club 50 points - shown right on the invite - and canceling removes them again. If the company actually connects, that's a further 200.
- This is different from connecting
- Inviting brings a company onto EpicHire, and the connection comes free with it. Connecting with a company that is already here is a separate action, limited per week by your club level - see Build your company network.
